Mark holds a Masters Degree in Education from the State of Pennsylvania, a B.S. in Art Education from Kutztown University, Associates of Arts Degree from Keystone College, and additional post-graduate credits.
His professional endeavors have included participation at the local, state and national levels in education and art exhibitions. He was awarded the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation’s “The Lab School of Washington, D. C“ national program, National Art Education Association’s Distinguished Fellows Multicultural Art Education Institute at Ohio State University, The Teacher Institute in Contemporary Art and Design at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and four programs with the Teachers Summer Institute on Public Art at Moore College of Art and Design, Philadelphia. He has also juried several local and state exhibitions and served as Vice-President and Gallery Chair with Afa Gallery Scranton, PA.
As an exhibiting printmaker in serigraphy and linocuts, Mark was invited to participate in his first international solo exhibition in Germany, “Kunst Macht Druck” (Art made with Pressure). He has been selected for Honorable Mentions in the 4th, 6th, and 8th NBC Meshtec International Screen Print Invitational Biennial, Tokyo, Japan and participated in several International Invitational Salon exhibitions with the New Arts Program. His print ”American Dream Diminishing” was the cover art for the San Diego Reader magazine and had an illustration published in the “Art for Aleppo” book. Mark has participated in many juried shows and has had solo exhibitions at area universities and other institutions. His ongoing collection of more than ninety ink illustrations on architecture, locomotives, and historical sites of the Greater Northeastern Pennsylvania area and beyond are widely known and collected.
His recent retirement from a career in public secondary education and several years as adjunct at Keystone College brings a welcome opportunity to continue with Armature and other educational programs.
